My journey with the LGBTQ+ community in both the business and private sector dates back to 1989 as a participant at the IGLTA Conference in Vancouver during my tenor at World of Vacations formerly Canadian Holidays . Attending a like-minded event of travel professionals during a time when the LGBTQ+ community fought for their voice to heard – it was at that moment and a milestone in my professional and personal growth that lead my path to educate and support my community. 

Since 1989 , I’ve attended multiple IGLTA Conferences , supported various charities  close and dear to me heart and community such as ; Dare to Wear Love – Stephen Lewis Foundation , CANFAR  - BSE ( Canadian Foundation for Aids Research ) , ACT ( Aids Committee of Toronto ) and Casey House - Art With Heart . I launched the first travel marketplace at Pride Toronto for several years and supported the Canadian Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.

From time to time I’m asked to guest speak on the LGBTQ+ demographic as a niche market to the travel and tourism students as recently as March 2022 at Conestoga College. These lectures provide  me with the opportunity and platform to reach the future of travel with my key message “ It’s about being inclusive not exclusive “ regardless of your profile. 

My role as an educator also allowed me the opportunity to reach the travel trade as a monthly guest writer with Baxter Publishing as their in-house LGBTQ+ travel expert ( 2016 – 2018). I’m so proud to have had a platform to share my experiences and voice to my travel family .
